WATER SPORTS ON THE SLOTERMEER LAKE
At a 1.9 km walking distance from our campsite in Wijckel is the popular Slotermeer. The Slotermeer lies between Sloten, Balk and Woudsend and these three places are connected to each other by 3 navigation channels with buoys. The Slotermeer is a perfect place for enjoying various water sports. Hire a canoe, surfing board, water bike or motor boat and enjoy this lovely lake! Within the yellow buoys, you may sail fast with your boat and outside this fast sailing area you must adapt your speed to the other water sports enthusiasts who are there.

Sneek, a charming city with many water sports! From sporty sailing to a boat trip through the charming centre, Sneek has something for everyone. Sneek also has many shops, terraces, monuments and various museums such as the Frisian Ship Transport Museum. During your stay in Sneek, you will be pleasantly surprised by the many tasteful restaurants in this charming city.

Have you ever wanted to spot seals? Take the opportunity during your holiday at the campsite in Friesland! Take the boat from the Zuiderhaven and enjoy a two-hour seal trip. Also be sure to go on a mud flat tourled by an experienced guide, this way of doing a mud flat tour is suitable for both young and old!
